AAEEBL

Established in 2009, the Association for Authentic, Experiential and Evidence-Based Learning (AAEEBL, pronounced "able") is a professional organization for the world eportfolio community that now has established affiliations and collaborations with nearly all world-wide portfolio initiatives, projects and organizations.

Entering into its third year, members include world-wide  academic institutions and corporate affiliates.  AAEEBL publishes a bi-monthly "semi-scholarly" (informal) newsletter, The AAEEBL Learner, featuring short articles about eportfolio initiatives and events from members and affiliates.  In addition to an annual meeting in July in Boston, AAEEBL holds several themed conferences each year:

  • AAEEBL Conference on Assessment and ePortfolios -- to be offered in the southeast of the U.S. -- To be held in the fall of the year.
  • AAEEBL Conference on Career, Employability and ePortfolios -- to be offered in the west of the U.S. -- Scheduled for February 27-28 at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • AAEEBL Conference on Learning, Metacognition -- to be offered in the northeast of the U.S. -- Scheduled for March 23 at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

AAEEBL services and events are supported through membership fees, affiliate donations and conferences.

AAEEBL is a partner in the Connect to Learning, FIPSE-funded grant project that seeks to study eportfolio implementation and support the eportfolio initiatives of over 20 campuses participating in the project.
